Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

Q?

WILL YOU INSTALL THE SLIDING WARDROBES FOR ME?

A.

Whilst the products are a genuine DIY installation, as an alternative you can measure up yourself and let our professional fitters install for you. Or if you live close by our showrooms we do a design, survey and installation service.

Q?

WHAT IS THE STORAGE SYSTEM MADE OF?

A.

The stanchions are high grade Alumunium, which is anodised satin silver, the Drawer units are MDF and MFC, The MFC shelves are faced with a 0.4mm melamine edging. The glass shelves are 6,0mm thick toughend glass. The clothes hanger bars are anodised aluminium.

Q?

WHAT IS THE STANDARD DEPTH?

A.

We recommend a minimum depth of 600mm. Our end panels are 600mm deep. Most skilled bedroom fitters set their wardrobe systems at 600mm

Q?

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ORIENTAL BARS AND SPLIT PANEL BARS?

A.

You can give an oriental look to many of the panels by adding horizontal Oriental Bars that are placed at the top of the panels. Alternatively, Split Panels can be used to change the colours and materials on the door surface by splitting each door panel into sections using horizontal rails (with a visible surface of 15mm).

Q?

WHAT IS MFC?

A.

MFC is melamine-faced chipboard a widely used, accredited timber product.

Q?

WHAT IS AN END PANEL?

A.

An end panel acts as an MFC (melamine-faced chipboard) side of the wardrobe. For example you may wish to have one side as an existing wall in your bedroom. You can then use an end panel on the other side to determine the width of your wardrobe. Our end panels will match your frame and are 600mm deep 18mm thick and approx 2500mm high. (You can cut this down to suit your bedroom ceiling height.)

Q?

WHAT IS AN APERTURE?

A.

An aperture is the measured space that you’re installing your sliding wardrobe doors into.

Q?

WHAT IS A LINER?

A.

A liner is a piece of MFC (melamine-faced chipboard). This will match your choice of sliding door frame. The purpose of a liner is to act as a floor plate for the bottom track as well as a wall liner where the sliding doors will meet the wall. Our liners are 90mm wide, 18mm thick and approx 2500mm long. They are not compulsory, and you can delete them from our order sequence if they are not required.

Q?

WHAT DOES WALL TO WALL MEAN?

A.

Wall to wall means that you will run your fitted wardrobe right across a room from one wall to the other. You do not need an end panel, but we advise you have liners to protect the walls.

Q?

WHAT COLOUR OPTIONS AND CHOICES ARE AVAILABLE?

A.

There are a choice of more than 300 sliding door designs to choose from in a wide variety of colours, please be aware due to computer resolution settings and all colour options shown on this website are representations of the products sold.
